Privacy policy
Last updated
This policy explains how personal information is handled in connection with filingsmap.com (the “site”). “We” and “us” mean the FilingsMap team. The short version: the site has no accounts, forms, analytics or advertising trackers, so we collect very little.
Who is responsible
The FilingsMap team is responsible for (the “controller” of) the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@filingsmap.com.
What we collect
When you email us
If you write to us, for example to request a demo, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you choose to put in your message. We use this only to reply to you and to follow up on your inquiry.
When you visit the site
We don’t run analytics or advertising tools on the site, and the site makes no requests to third parties: every page, image and font is served from our own domain.
The site does need a host, though. It is served by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of each request. Cloudflare processes this on our behalf to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, and may also use some of it, as an independent controller, to secure and improve its own network. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
We don’t have access to individual request logs. At most, we can see aggregated traffic statistics in our Cloudflare account, such as the number of requests and the countries they come from, which don’t identify individual visitors.
Why we use it
We use this information to answer your inquiries and to run a secure, working website. Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on our legitimate interest in doing those things (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), or, when you ask about using FilingsMap, on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information, share it for advertising, or use it for profiling or automated decision-making. We share it only:
- with the service providers who host the site and our email, to the extent they need it to provide those services;
- where the law requires it, or where it’s necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
International transfers
We and our service providers may process your information in a country other than your own. For transfers from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland to the United States, Cloudflare relies on its certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension to it, and the Swiss–US Data Privacy Framework, with standard contractual clauses as a fallback.
How long we keep it
We keep correspondence for as long as we need it to deal with your inquiry and any relationship that follows, or longer if the law requires us to, then delete it. Technical data held by our hosting provider is kept according to its own retention practices.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive a copy in a portable format.
To use any of these rights, email hello@filingsmap.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we’ll respond within the time the law requires. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The site is intended for businesses and isn’t directed at children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If the way we handle personal information changes, for example if we start using analytics, we’ll update this policy and the “last updated” date above before the change takes effect.
